The last time you could drive north and south on Market street, All in the Family was the top rated show, bell bottoms were in and Disco was heard crying "I'm not dead yet". Well now you can drive your Prius or Gremlin from Rodney Square through LOMA and back! The expanded traffic raises the visibility of LOMA’s shops to car riders. Be sure to crank up your ABBA 8-track as you pass through LOMA! |

Pittsburgh's 16:62 Design Zone is the city's interior design district, connecting the 16th Street Bridge to the 62nd Street Bridge. The eclectic boutiques and sidewalk cafes mix with charming architecture to create a haven for anyone who appreciates good design, local artistry, and sunshine on their face during a weekend stroll. As their website explains, "This creative mix of shops can be found in buildings that are as interesting as the products inside — from turn-of-the-century storefronts to creatively renovated warehouses." Now, where in Wilmington do we have this kind of potential... Market Street, anyone?
LOMA's steering committee and the City of Wilmington are committed to creating this sort of charming pedestrian community that members of the Creative Class can call "home" (and office). Our district runs from 6th to MLK straight down N. Market Street, and contains some of the finest mid-19th century architecture in the region. We are a grassroots organization of business owners, property owners, and city supporters.
