The Vision of LOMA

LOMA was founded with a passionate pursuit of the following characteristics which we feel are critical to creating a vibrant, creative community in Wilmington, Delaware.

Creativity
District becomes a magnet for our region's "Creative Class" of professionals.

Commerce
Density of quality design specialists brings cache to the LOMA address;

Culture
Street activity bustles day and night with outdoor dining and conversation;

Community
All are welcome; diversity of self-expression and of ideas is encouraged; spirit of citizenship prevails.

Construction Complete!

BPG has completed their historic renovation of the old 4W5 building at 421 N. Market Street and wow, is she a stunner. Upstairs, 12 apartments have been beautifully detailed and are expected to be occupied by DCAD students this summer. At street level, 3 retail spaces are being finished as we speak.

New Tenants Moving In

AIG has moved in to the Renaissance Centre at 4th x King where they are occupying two floors of commercial office space. LOMA's newest office tower is now half full!

The Rebel Restaurant - a Southern and West Indian bar & grill - will open in May at 201 N. Market Street at the corner of 2nd Street. Come on down and enjoy some down-home cooking.

Award Winning Design

The Archer Group's stellar design for Preservation Initiatives' website received Gold honors at the 2008 Addy Awards in the B2B Flash category.

Better Know a (Design) District

Cleveland's District of Design is a joint venture of the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA), the City of Cleveland, and private developers seeking to establish Cleveland as a leader in consumer product design. CIA's program in Industrial Design is revered as one of the best in the country, and former professor Viktor Schreckengost is a leading American figure in American ID. Northeast Ohio is home to more than 40 consumer product brands including Hoover, KraftMaid, Moen, and Rubbermaid.

Interestingly, this entity references a UK Design Index which tracked 65 British companies and found that those which used design effectively outperformed the UK stock market by 200%.

There is no doubt the creative economy is going to play a significant role in Delaware's future, and LOMA aims to spearhead this effort.
